Solution

Children’s National Medical Center had identified three major areas for improvement in their copier contract: technical response, billing, and cost control. United Business Technologies was selected by Children’s National Medical Center to be their new exclusive copier provider for the following reasons:

• Superior technical service: UBT provides an on-site technician, dedicated to maintaining  and responding to technical calls on any of the over 250 copiers at Children’s National  Medical Center.
• Customizable billing: UBT provides a single itemized bill that is customized to include the individual departmental cost center charge back codes, to allocate copier usage charges.  This billing system also lists the location, individual meter usage and departments assigned to each unit, providing a comprehensive inventory of equipment to the hospital.
• Cost reduction: Although Xerox charged Children’s National Medical Center a termination fee of almost $1 million, UBT was able to pay off that termination fee while reducing the overall monthly copier charge for the hospital.
