CUSTOMER PROFILE
The U.S. Army National Guard’s Headquarters and Readiness Center in Arlington, Virginia plays a vital role in supporting responses to domestic emergencies, combat missions, counterdrug efforts, and reconstruction efforts.  The National Guard’s number one priority is the security and defense of our homeland, at home, and abroad.  Access to relevant information, shared documents, and reliable Multi-Functional Device (MFD) technology is critical to the support of each mission.

CHALLENGE
To support the Readiness Center, the Army National Guard required a fleet of high volume color MFD’s that are highly reliable, certified by Department of Defense, and supported by a responsiveness service model.  The Guard was looking to replace 30+ Xerox MFDs, while partnering with a local Washington DC based maintenance provider to support multiple locations to include Arlington, VA and the Pentagon.  Critical challenges facing the National Guard included:

The National Guard’s MFD vision would require a solution that addresses these challenges as well as integrates with key systems and delivers high reliability.

SOLUTION
Equipped with UBT’s responsive service guarantees and Canon technology, the National Guard awarded a (5) year contract to United Business Technologies, Canon U.S.A., and MEC Development (8a firm) to lease (32) high volume color Canon MFDs.  UBT is providing a full range of service guarantees to ensure 98% availability, 4 hour guaranteed on-site response time, 15 minute telephone response time, and same day on-site parts replacement.  UBT has reduced the National Guard MFD outages from days to minutes and created a self-sufficient end user community with unlimited hands-on training.
