In 2012, UBT partnered with Children’s National to contribute $50 for each Canon office product sold between April and December. All funds raised support advancements in medical technology, including the Mind Brain Institute, Anticipatory Medicine, Mobile Units, and Emergency Preparedness programs. Children’s National is among the top pediatric hospitals in America and the leader in development of innovative treatments for childhood illness and injury. The hospital has served the nation’s children since 1870 and UBT is dedicated to helping them and the community.

Over the next two years, UBT plans to contribute $150,000 to Children’s National Medical Center, by continuing its current program of $50 for each Canon product sold. United Business Technologies also sponsors the annual Children’s Ball and signature 5K Run/Walk Race for Every Child.

Canon Mobile Printing and Scanning App for iPhone and iPad

o    The Canon Mobile Printing and Scanning App provides users with a mobile print and scan solution that easily integrates the iPhone and iPad with the Canon imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems allowing users to perform print and scan functions between the two devices, such as scanning from the MFP to an iOS device or printing from an iOS device to an MFP.

 o   Customers will now be able to easily print emails, PDFs and photos from an iOS device to a Canon MFP, scanning hard copy documents from a Canon MFP to an iOS device, and remotely manage Canon MFPs, print finishing features, and scan options from an iOS device (e.g., select paper size selection, select scan resolution, duplex printing, color vs. black and white, select number of prints, collate and more).

uniFLOW Mobile and Cloud Printing

o    uniFLOW provides several different methods for users to submit jobs, including submission via e-mail, uploading a job via a web browser and printing directly from an application using an Internet enabled driver. uniFLOW also supports direct printing for iPhone and iPad.

 o   Whichever method the user chooses to submit a job, the core functionality of uniFLOW is available.  Users can be identified by multiple email address and usernames, ensuring that the correct user and budget is charged for the print job and that each user only appears once in reports, regardless of how many different ways they have chosen to submit documents.

 EFI PrintMe Mobile

o    EFI PrintMe is a mobile print solution for Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs that allows users to print from their mobile devices (i.e., smartphones, tablets, laptops) directly to Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs.

New Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 Series Expands Lineup Of Intelligent Multifunctional Advance Platform

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. - March 12, 2012 – Expanding the imageRUNNER ADVANCE lineup, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 series, a versatile and foundational monochrome MFP for mid-volume office environments. The new models offer advanced solutions for improving small department and large workgroup productivity and collaboration. They feature one-stop operations, multi-tasking capabilities and an improved user interface for a more intuitive operation, along with improvements in productivity, high-volume paper handling capabilities and flexible in-line finishing options.

As the newest addition to the imageRUNNER ADVANCE product line, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051/4045/4035/4025 models will serve as an upgrade path for the imageRUNNER 3245 Series. The 4000 Series improvements from its predecessor include utilization of the ADVANCE architecture and interface, faster B&W output speeds and color scan speeds and the ability to accept a wider range of paper weights and media. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051/4045/4035/4025 models produce letter-sized black-and-white output at 51 ppm, 45 ppm, 35 ppm and 25 ppm, respectively and incorporate a100-sheet capacity scanner and auto-duplex document feeder to easily convert paper documents to digital files. Its powerful system architecture is then able to process even the largest and most complex jobs quickly, moving them through the network at remarkable speeds via Universal Send in formats that reduce file sizes without losing the integrity.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 Series multifunction office systems have obtained Common Criteria Certification conforming to the IEEE 2600.1 standard. The IEEE2600.1 standard is a Protection Profile for Hard Copy devices used in "Operational Environment A", which is generally characterized as a restrictive commercial information processing environment in which a relatively high level of document security, operational accountability, and information assurance are required. Typical information processed in "Operational Environment A" is trade secret, mission-critical, or subject to legal and regulatory considerations such as for privacy or governance.
