Xerox has been focusing on sustainability since the early 1980s. As the first company to offer energy saving power down options on their equipment and defaulted two-sided printing, Xerox has long been the leader in the industry for sustainability initiatives.
In 2012 at the end of a 10-year initiative to reduce emissions, Xerox succeeded in reducing 42% of their emissions and reduced power consumption by 31%. Now Xerox is aiming for an additional 20% reduction in both areas by 2020.

HP is committed to helping customers recycle responsibly. Their product-recycling goal is to recycle 1.2 million tonnes of hardware and supplies by 2025. Since the beginning of 2016, they have recycled 271,400 tonnes through 2017. More than 80% of ink cartridges and 100% of HP LaserJet toner cartridges are now manufactured with “closed loop” recycled plastic, and they have used over half a million pounds of ocean-bound plastic to make Original HP ink cartridges.

Toshiba recently developed the world’s first multi-functional device with erasable toner. With a strong commitment to sustainability, Toshiba realized that to be truly impactful in the printing environment there needed to be a way to reduce paper usage. Toshiba was awarded the Bronze Stevie by the American Business Awards for creating the World’s First Multifunction Product with Erasable Toner.
