UBT's Covid 19 Response image Dear valued customers,

At UBT, the health and well-being of our customers, employees, and communities are our top priority.

We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are committed to being responsive to our customers and employees as the situation develops.

We are working closely with our in-house staff and technical team to ensure they are protecting themselves as well as others.  We have implemented the following procedures:

  • Hand Hygiene and Handwashing:  All of our technicians have been provided gloves and we have strongly recommended the gloves to be worn when working on equipment. We have also reinforced that all our staff diligently wash their hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the day.
  • Face Coverings: All UBT employees are required to wear face coverings while in the office or performing work duties.
  • Employees Health: Any UBT employee experiencing cold/flu-like systems or has encountered an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, will be instructed to self-quarantine and stay home.
  • Sanitation and cleanliness:  Due to the shared utilization of office equipment, UBT recommends equipment sanitization be handled in the following way:
    • Disinfectant wipes are the preferred method to clean your copier/printer screen and surfaces. (Please make sure the wipe isn’t dripping wet or it could damage your device.)
    • Please DO NOT use hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, or soap to clean the screen or device.  These products can damage or interfere with the device operations.
    • If a service call is placed and a technician comes on-site, they will bring products to clean and wipe down the device prior to and post service call
  • Remote Assistance: Due to customers interacting with our on-site technicians, UBT will be increasing our phone support to assist with over-the-phone Technical Support.  We will still have on-site technicians operating as usual but offer this as additional support and safeguard for our team and yours.

As we deal with the health and safety, there are also economic and inventory concerns. Please see below regarding inventory of equipment, toner, and parts:

  • Equipment, Parts, and Supplies: Canon reports no shortage of inventory at this time.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will make adjustments as needed.

Please stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

United Business Technologies
