HP wins five-year Shutterfly deal – accelerates digital print momentum

PALO ALTO, Calif., August 16, 2017 — HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) today announced a historic deal with Shutterfly, the world’s leading online retailer and manufacturer of high-quality personalized products and services, adding a second phase of HP Indigo 12000 Digital Presses and naming HP as its preferred digital press provider for its core business. The announcement comes just a year after Shutterfly acquired a first phase of HP Indigo 12000 Digital Presses, making the combined order the largest deal by far for HP Indigo.

Tell us a little about yourself: Hau "Employee of the Century" Lai is one of UBT's hardest working employees.  Hau manages the operations department at UBT and works diligently to coordinate with vendors, employees, and clients to make sure all equipment is delivered on-time and with impeccable customer service.  No matter the challenge, Hau always manages to exceed expectations.

Meet our employee, LeeAnne Baldwin

Hometown: Middletown, Maryland 

Tell us a little about yourself: I have been working in the copier industry for about 8 years now (which is almost all my adult life!). Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my mom, my three dogs and being outdoors. I am a certified makeup artist but will be returning to school in the fall to pursue a degree in business management. I hope to one day own a animal sanctuary that focuses on rescuing pit bulls and bully breeds.

What do you like most about working at UBT: I love the family like atmosphere and the freedom to be who you are! I also love that as employees we feel appreciated – not only by our bosses but our other team members. UBT really allows you to grow and learn in a stress-free environment. Interesting Fact: Cooking is my favorite way to relax - besides being in nature. I have an unhealthy obsession with the tv show The First 48.

Tell us a little about yourself: I am married to my lovely wife Amanda (who I met at UBT), and we have three dogs, and a baby girl due in September.  I love the water, and enjoy living near the Chesapeake Bay.  In my spare time I like to mountain bike, skateboard, and play racquetball.

What do you like most about working at UBT: The fact that no two opportunities are the same.  It keeps things interesting, and encourages thinking outside of the box.

Interesting Fact:  Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour. (But we don't recommend it.)

United Business Technologies Partners with Blessings in a Backpack

United Business Technologies (UBT) has partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to fill 50 backpacks full of food each week for the next three years. The backpacks will provide weekend meals to students who qualify for the federally-funded National School Lunch Program at South Lake Elementary School in Gaithersburg, MD.  Through this program, UBT will contribute $50 for every copier sold from December 1st, 2016 to November 30th, 2019.

Blessings in a Backpack is a nonprofit that works with volunteers across the country to collect and package backpacks full of food, distributing them each Friday to students who qualify.
